A Secure Nursery Environment
We have CCTV cameras installed throughout the entire nursery to help us maintain a safe and secure environment for all children, staff, and visitors. Our CCTV system is used internally to support staff training, monitor health and safety procedures, and assist in reviewing any accidents or incidents should they occur. This allows us to maintain high standards of care and continually improve our practice.
Biometric Fingerprint Entry System
To ensure safe and controlled access to the nursery, we use a biometric fingerprint entry system for all registered families. When children start at the nursery, parents and carers are invited to register their fingerprints securely within our system. This allows families to enter and exit the nursery safely and efficiently while preventing unauthorised access.
For all other visitors, we operate a secure bell entry system. Visitors are only granted access by a member of management or staff after being greeted and checked safely at reception. This helps us maintain strict safeguarding and security procedures throughout the day.
Defibrillator and LifeVac
We have a defibrillator on site, allowing staff to respond quickly in the event of a cardiac emergency while awaiting emergency services. In addition, we have a LifeVac anti-choking device available within the nursery. The LifeVac is a specially designed emergency device used to assist in choking situations if standard choking procedures are unsuccessful.
Fully Trained Paediatric and First Aid Staff
Every member of staff at our nursery is paediatric first aid trained, ensuring children are supported quickly and appropriately in the event of any emergency. Our team regularly updates their training and knowledge so they are fully prepared to respond confidently and professionally to accidents, illnesses, or unexpected situations.
Safer Recruitment & Safeguarding Procedures
Keeping children safe begins with recruiting the right people. At Banana Moon Croydon, we follow strict safer recruitment procedures to ensure every staff member is suitable to work with children.
All staff:
- Undergo enhanced DBS checks
- Are registered on the DBS Update Service
- Have their DBS status reviewed every 12 weeks
- Provide verified employment references
- Complete thorough vetting and safeguarding checks before employment begins
